Our dog got lost, and we couldn’t find him for a long time: Then, a month later, we got a call saying the animal was found, but there was something strange 😨😱

We adopted Roy from the shelter when he was still a puppy. He grew up with my children, went through a move and a divorce with us, and became a full member of the family. Every evening, he waited for me at the gate as if he knew exactly when I’d come home from work.

One day, I came home — the gate was open. Roy was gone. At first, we thought he just went out for a walk. After a couple of hours — panic. We called all the vet clinics and shelters, posted flyers, and searched with neighbors.

📬 Roy was 800 km away from us — in another city, with a stranger’s collar and a new name. He was brought by a couple who claimed they found the dog in the forest.

But Roy recognized me immediately — he howled, jumped, and threw himself into my arms as if we had never been apart.

Later, it turned out that these “finders” were thieves specializing in stealing purebred dogs. They were caught.

They wanted to sell our dog for several thousand dollars, but Roy bit everyone left and right, wouldn’t let anyone near, and barked constantly. Then the thieves realized it was useless to deal with him and took the dog to the vet.

And Roy? He’s back with us. And now — with a GPS on his collar and lots of hugs every day.
