At least 15 people lost their lives in a devastating accident this Thursday in Manitoba, Canada. The incident occurred when a bus carrying elderly passengers collided with a truck at an intersection near Carberry, approximately 170 kilometers west of Winnipeg.
The bus was transporting passengers headed to a local casino in Carberry. Rob Hill, an officer of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Manitoba, confirmed the death toll, stating, “At least 15 people have lost their lives in this tragic collision.”
Ten other passengers are currently hospitalized. Although both drivers survived, authorities have yet to determine who was responsible for the accident. Heart-wrenching images show damaged wheelchairs and walkers, surrounded by tarps covering the bodies of the victims.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau extended his condolences to the families of the deceased and offered his support to those injured. Heather Stefanson, the Premier of Manitoba, also expressed her sympathy to those affected.
