That day, the paralyzed girl had decided, for the first time, to visit the shelter. She had long dreamed of a dog that would be there not just for play and walks, but for real support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wheels of her wheelchair creaked softly on the corridor floor as she entered the spacious room with the kennels.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Shepherd stopped at a distance, tense. Its ears were alert, eyes fixed on the girl in the wheelchair. The seconds dragged painfully. And suddenly, the dog barked loudly and took a few steps toward her. The echo of its bark bounced off the walls. With her heart racing, the girl reached out her hand \u2013 and the dog didn\u2019t flinch, didn\u2019t growl, but allowed her to pet it. Moreover \u2013 it sighed deeply and, strangely, fell asleep right at her feet.<\/p>\n\n\n

A deathly silence filled the room. People couldn\u2019t believe their eyes. Someone whispered:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The girl leaned forward and said softly:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNow you\u2019re mine. We\u2019ll be together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
