The morning silence filled the train \u2014 the rumble of the wheels, a few quiet conversations, and the smell of coffee from thermoses. People were buried in their phones, hurrying to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014 I think command will be interested to know how you \u201cdefend the army\u2019s honor\u201d \u2014 and with whom you think you can speak like that, \u2014 she continued, calmly buttoning her coat again. \u2014 Or perhaps you\u2019d prefer to simply apologize?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The man swallowed hard, leaned back, and murmured almost inaudibly:

She nodded without looking at him.
\u2014 Sometimes it\u2019s better to know who you\u2019re talking to first, \u2014 she said softly, then exited at the next station, leaving the car in tense silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
