I knew I didn\u2019t look great. Fever, chills, dry cough \u2014 it all hit me right before the flight. But canceling the trip wasn\u2019t an option: tickets were bought, hotel paid for, meetings scheduled. I had no choice but to pull myself together and get on the plane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I quietly took my seat by the window, trying not to disturb anyone. I pulled out my water bottle, placed some tissues nearby, and prepared to spend the next few hours as peacefully as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But only ten minutes after takeoff, an angry voice rang out in the cabin:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I tried to reply calmly:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014 \u201cI\u2019m sorry. I\u2019ll try to be quieter. I\u2019ll take some medicine. You can wear headphones if the sound bothers you\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014 \u201cI\u2019m not putting anything on! This is my vacation, and you\u2019re ruining it!\u201d \u2014 she shrieked, drawing the attention of everyone on board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A minute later, she hit the call button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A young flight attendant approached with a strained smile:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014 \u201cGood afternoon, is something wrong?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The woman nearly jumped out of her seat:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014 \u201cHe\u2019s coughing! He\u2019s sick! You have to do something! I paid for my ticket, by the way!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight attendant nodded politely and walked off. She returned a few minutes later, this time with a serious look. Clearly, she had spoken to the captain. And that\u2019s when the woman began to regret calling her in the first place. \"\ud83d\ude32\" Continued in the first comment \"\ud83d\udc47\"\"\ud83d\udc47\"<\/p>\n\n\n

The woman instantly turned red and shouted:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014 \u201cI\u2019m not moving because of him! I paid for this seat!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight attendant looked at me and said calmly:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014 \u201cWe can move you if you\u2019re okay with it. There\u2019s a free seat available\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014 \u201cOf course, move me! I don\u2019t want to listen to this for the whole flight!\u201d \u2014 the woman beamed with satisfaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I nodded:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014 \u201cAlright. If it helps, I don\u2019t mind.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014 \u201cPerfect,\u201d the flight attendant said. \u201cThe only free seat is in business class. There, you can relax. Dinner and drinks will be served. Please follow me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

I got up, and for a few seconds, there was complete silence in the cabin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As I walked past the woman, I caught a glimpse of her face \u2014 it first froze, then twisted with anger and jealousy. She muttered something, but no one was listening anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
