Our red cat named Sima has always been extraordinarily smart and affectionate. From a young age, she showed a special feline wisdom \u2014 she understood when we were sad, when we were busy, and never interfered unnecessarily. It was as if she read our minds, respecting our boundaries, even when it concerned the forbidden door to our bedroom. Sima knew she was not allowed to enter there and always accepted it calmly.<\/p>\n\n\n

But in recent weeks, something changed in her behavior. She became anxious, restless, often sitting for days and nights by the bedroom door, meowing plaintively and loudly, as if begging to be let in. She sat motionless in one spot by the door, staring attentively at something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We tried to understand what was happening. We fed her the best food, took her for walks, tried to give her as much attention as possible, but Sima didn\u2019t leave the door. At night, her crying became especially bitter, and our hearts broke with pity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That night I couldn\u2019t bear it anymore \u2014 I opened the door and let her spend the night with us. Sima entered cautiously, as if afraid to disturb our peace, and quietly settled at the foot of the bed. She slept soundly, almost without moving, as if she finally felt safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This smart, loyal cat apparently just wanted to say goodbye in her own way, spending her last hours next to the owners she loved with all her heart. We cried, unable to believe she was no longer here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few days later, when we were tidying the house, we found her little hiding place behind the sofa \u2014 there were all the treats we had given Sima recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She hadn\u2019t eaten them, carefully storing them in a hidden place, as if she no longer felt the need to eat, knowing her journey was coming to an end \u2014 or keeping them for us.<\/p>\n\n\n
