Rush hour. The heat was close to forty degrees. Drivers were losing patience: the traffic jam had been standing for thirty minutes \u2014 all because of him \u2014 the huge white Alabai lying right in the middle of the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dog looked like a stone. It didn\u2019t move or react to honking. It just calmly watched the passing cars without taking its eyes off them, as if guarding something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One nervous, sweaty driver shouted through the window:<\/p>\n\n\n

\u2014 That\u2019s an Alabai! It can bite you in half! Who will go near it?! Call the police!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No one approached. Two cars failed to avoid each other and bumped \u2014 glass shattered, bumpers cracked, curses flew. But the dog still lay there. Giant, white, with a piercing gaze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suddenly, the door of a cheap foreign car opened. A tall, slender man in a white shirt \u2014 clearly an office clerk \u2014 exhaled and walked toward the Alabai. Everyone held their breath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dog stood up. Slowly. Massive paws, shaggy back. It stood on its hind legs. Someone in a car shouted:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014 That\u2019s it! He\u2019s done for!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The man closed his eyes in fear, but then suddenly noticed something terrible \"\ud83d\ude31\" Continued in the first comment \"\ud83d\udc47\"\"\ud83d\udc47\"<\/p>\n\n\n

The man stepped back, but then noticed: the dog\u2019s belly was round and heavy. She was pregnant. He saw her paws trembling. Her eyes were no longer threatening \u2014 they were full of pain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stepped closer and carefully reached out his hand. And then something incredible happened \u2014 the Alabai quietly lowered itself on its front paws and pressed its nose into his palm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The man turned to the drivers and shouted:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014 She\u2019s unwell! She\u2019s not aggressive, she just\u2026 she can\u2019t go on anymore!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Someone called the vet. Someone came out with a bottle of water. People approached carrying towels, pillows, one even brought an umbrella. Within an hour, the Alabai was carefully loaded into a car, and the road was clear again.<\/p>\n\n\n

But the story didn\u2019t end there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three weeks later, the same man \u2014 the one who stepped out first \u2014 received a letter. Inside was a photo: five snow-white puppies in a small cozy shelter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the back was written:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
