We adopted Roy from the shelter when he was still a puppy. He grew up with my children, went through a move and a divorce with us, and became a full member of the family. Every evening, he waited for me at the gate as if he knew exactly when I\u2019d come home from work.<\/p>\n\n\n

But Roy recognized me immediately \u2014 he howled, jumped, and threw himself into my arms as if we had never been apart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later, it turned out that these \u201cfinders\u201d were thieves specializing in stealing purebred dogs. They were caught.<\/p>\n\n\n
