I\u2019ve been working at this caf\u00e9 for many years. The job is tough, but I hang on \u2014 nowadays many people dream of at least a simple, stable position. I always try to help those who are struggling \u2014 simply because I once needed that kind of help myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few days ago, I noticed a man sitting by the entrance of the caf\u00e9. He wasn\u2019t begging insistently, didn\u2019t hold out his hand \u2014 he just sat there quietly, leaning on a crutch, staring at the ground. People walked past him as if he didn\u2019t exist. My heart sank: it was obvious he hadn\u2019t eaten in a long time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
