This American woman has established a sanctuary where she cares for rescued mustangs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mustangs are wild horses from North America with Spanish ancestry, and they are often captured for rodeo events.<\/p>\n\n\n

Clare Staples rescues wild horses to prevent them from being hunted, sold, and separated from their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Clare, horses, in addition to being sensitive, are very attached to their parents, siblings, and other family members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWild horses have very deep bonds. It\u2019s not just humans who care about their families,\u201d Clare told the Washington Post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously, Clare was a Hollywood producer, but at the age of 50, she decided to become a farmer and founded the wild horse sanctuary known as Skydog Ranch and Sanctuary.<\/p>\n\n\n

She mentioned that her horses are collected by the Bureau of Land Management, which used to sell them at auctions and send them to different environments or slaughterhouses. That\u2019s why she decided to take action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sanctuary owner acquired 9,000 acres of pastureland to provide enough space for the animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an interview, Clare stated, \u201cMustangs from 10 western states in the U.S. are hunted, which means a mare and her foal living in Arizona can be separated. They might sell, for example, the foal in Oregon and the mare in Nevada.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

Clare uses a network of photographers to track the members of equine families and uses the money earned from her nonprofit operations to buy them at auctions until they are reunited on her ranch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
